Dance Sport

Dance Sport (competitive dancing) is a
fascinating sport that has drawn people in
over 84 countries on all 6 continents into
its spell. From ballroom dancing, it was
developed tremendously which is enjoyable &
can be considered as a great social
asset.DanceSport is a team sport generally
defined as the pairing of male and female
dancers as a couple (or a group of couples
combining as a team), using the required
technique together with floor craft and
artistic interpretation to produce a highly
disciplined dance performance.
Dance Sport championships are held in four
disciplines:
Standard Dances.
Latin American Dances
Ten Dance
Rock 'n' Roll
Standard Dances
Standard comprises altogether five different
dances: the Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz,
Slow Foxtrot and Quickstep
Latin American Dances
Latin American comprises five different
dances as well the Samba, Cha Cha Cha,
Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive.
Ten Dance
Ten dance is the combination of the above,
all the Standard and Latin American dances
performed as one-day event.
Formation Dance
Formation features eight couples dancing a
fixed choreography-in either Standard or
Latin American discipline- to their own
music.
Rock 'n' Roll
Championships in Rock 'n' Roll are conducted
under the separate rules and regulations of
the World Rock 'n' Roll Confederation
Proper technique is the organizers or the
orchestra selects the foundation of Dance
Sport. The music is required for all
discipline except Formation. The athletes do
not know which melodies they will dance to;
although the basic rhythm and the tempo for
music are both governed by the Competition
Rules of the International Dance Sport
Federation (IDSF). Through elimination
rounds couple from first to sixth. Winners
are the couple with the most' firsts'
accumulated in different dances
